Electricity:

A significant advantage to a data center location in Laramie, Wyoming is the low cost, reliable, and redundant power sources.  Laramie's electricity provider is Rocky Mountain Power, which serves more than one million customers in Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. Both transmission and distribution level power is readily available from Rocky Mountain Power in the L:aramie area.  The company's electrical system investments are creating the energy infrastructure Wyoming businesses and communities need now and in the future.  Low electricity prices provide a competitive advantage for businesses and attracting new commerce and industry to the state.

Having a reliable electrical system is essential to the economic vitality of a community.  Rocky Mountain Power has been delivering safe, reliable and reasonably priced electrical service to its customers for the past 100 years and is prepared to continue the same quality service into the future.  for more information, visit www.rockymountainpower.net

WAPA (Western Area Power Authority) recently constructed a new "Ring Buss" substation fed by  three (3) independent reliable sources utilizing four (4) transmission lines.   Laramie is extremely fortunate to have multiple high capacity sub-stations and switch-yards including Snowy Range Sub-Station, a transmission level sub-station with the exceptional reliability of four transmission lines - two from the eastern grid (Archer) and two from the western grid (Miracle Mile) tying into the sub-station.  Acknowledging the engineering requirements to determine the specific access capabilities and associated costs, Laramie is confident that we can fit any data center's power need.  In fact, dual independent feeds of 90 mW was not a problem for Verizon Communications.

Wyoming has numberous major power generation sites with abundant transmission lines to carry the power out of the state producing abundant energy with capacity to expand as demand grows.
